Judy Fry and BALANCE Saddles presents:

An instructional day with Gemma Taylor, an Alexander Technique Teacher

Thursday 6th June 2019, 10am – 4.30pm
at Well Farm, Adversane near Billingshurst, RH14 9JG.
£60.00 per person.

I would like to invite you to attend a day exploring how the Alexander technique can benefit you in both your riding and general physical and psychological wellbeing.

I was introduced to the Alexander Technique by Gemma Taylor 2 years ago and can genuinely say that this practice has been extremely helpful in supporting the achievement of correct body posture and thus greatly influenced an improvement with my own riding. Therefore, I thought it would be beneficial and fun to share what I have learned with you!

The Alexander Technique is a practical way of learning to release unwanted tension and increase supportive tone, so we can move more freely and easily. It is a non-invasive re-educational technique, with excellent therapeutic benefits. The Alexander Technique is directly concerned with the workings of the postural reflexes. These enable us to support and balance ourselves against the pull of gravity. By learning how to use your body well (i.e. consciously control your musculature) you will gain a variety of benefits, including;

  • Improved balance & co–ordination
  • Improved breathing & posture
  • Ease of movement
  • A strong & supportive back
  • Relief from problems caused by poor posture & tension

The morning will be spent doing exercises and exploring the technique in the afternoon you can have an individual lesson on your horse with Gemma and myself or on the ground with Gemma.

Bring a pilates ball if you have one and your own lunch. Tea and coffee will be provided.
